    Etcetera

    By Corvus | July 7, 2005

Today will bring about the fourth Carnival of Gamers, hosted by Josh at Cathode Tan. My contribution to CoG4 can be found here. If I were in the habit of apologizing for my creative output, I’d mention that it’s a bit rambly and without focus, but I’m not, so I won’t. Also, there’s talk of making the Carnival a monthly affair, so if you have an opinion about that, you should make it known. The Carnival is now monthly and will occur, it seems, on the first Thursday of the month.

I think this new schedule means I’ll announce a Round Table topic on the Monday following the Carnival and set the post deadline for the Thursday of the following week. That’ll give folks nearly two weeks to expound upon the issue at hand. If you’re just tuning in, the Round Table is going to be a collection of posts, all published on the same day, on a single topic, wherein links are provided (in every post) to the rest of the Round Table posts. I’ll more than likely be providing a PHP script which will handle the linkage for us (using a drop down, or something fancy like that). The topic will be publicly announced here (expect a Round Table page soon), so anyone can feel free to join in at any time.

I am still very angry at my laptop.

I had mentioned that I’d be sending a special prize to the blogger with the most votes for “Best Post” in CoG3. Apparently, this isn’t the right venue for that sort of things, as we had fewer than 1% voter turn out, and the winner doesn’t seem to want a prize. Regardless, in expectation of creating a larger charcoal sketch for the winning blogger, I did some concept sketches for a few of the participants. This is the sketch for the Carnival founder, Tony, at Button Mashing.

Corvus, that is excellent! Button mashing at its finest! I’d love to see what some of the others looked like.
