Blogging in the Year of Madness

Well, not a year. More like a week. Maybe two. I don’t have a lot of time this morning, but there are a few things I’d like to toss out there.
This upcoming Thursdays is the October Carnival of Gamers and it’s happening right here at Man Bytes Blog! This means that I’m going to be pretty busy getting everthing together, so I doubt it’ll be a post heavy week for me.
I’m the only manager at the store right now, as my boss is off getting married. So, I expect to be more stressed and tired than usual. He is, however, letting me borrow his game console… you know, the one that I won’t name here. This gives me a chance to check out a ton of games over the next two weeks, so expect some impressions of that eventually. So far I can emphatically say that I’m just about done looking at game character’s pores.
Speaking of the other console, someone asked me what I thought about XNA at the last IGDA meeting. Well, from everything that I’ve heard, XNA is great. In concept it certainly sounds delightful. Id’ be more interested and probably have more to say about it if it allowed me to develop cross platform. A longer reaction to the question may be brewing, but we’ll see if it ever turns into a stand-alone post or not.
I shaved my moustache. Yesterday I had longer curls than ever before and a pointy goatee which touched my collar bones. Today I’m clean shaven. That’s seven months of growth, gone. I frequently shave around this time of year. I wonder why? Regardless I look like a stranger in the mirror. It’s fun.
Our character creation session went quite well on Saturday, I think! If I manage a non-Carnival post at all this week, it’s going to be about that experience. I look forward to meeting with this group again next month and I had a couple of other people express interest in playing around in my world as well, so I may actually be able to run two groups!
All right, I don’t have much time before I have to get prepped for work and I’d like to spend some time beating up Mall Zombies before I do that. Have a great Monday!
