    Life: The MMOG

    By Corvus | March 26, 2007

If life were an MMOG, what would its forums look like?

I DEMAND THAT YOU MAKE TEENAGE BOYS BETER GUITAR PLAYERS. I AM NOW A TEENAGE BOY AND PLAN ON BEING ONE FOR MANY YEARS. IF YOU DO NOT MAKE TEENAGE BOYS BETER GUITAR PLAYERS, I WILL QUIT!!

    L337573R

Has anyone else noticed how unbalanced this is? I went to an accountant to get my taxes done last week and she was really good at math. I mean, really good. If I were that good at math, I wouldn’t have to pay an accountant to do my taxes. I think the devs should make pastry chefs better at math. Who’s with me?

    Terry A.

Passing the bar is too hard! How do you expect people to access high level lawyer content if you make it struggle to get there? Nerf the bar!!

    Lawrence R.

Reputation appears to be busted for the junior through high school levels. As I understand it, doing favors for a faction ought to increase your reputation with that faction. It doesn’t appear to be working that way from 7th through 12th grades, though! No matter how many favors I do for the popular crowd, they simply won’t cut me any slack. Please fix this now!

    Jenny L.

The stat bonuses to popularity don’t stack correctly. I’m wearing white athletic shoes with a +1 speed bonus and a +2 popularity bonus, navy blue pin stripe slacks with a +3 bonus to attractiveness and popularity, and a button down green plaid shirt with a +2 to popularity. Yet, when I’m wearing them all my popularity bonus is -2. What gives?!

    Desperately Seeking Fashion

Please do something about all the gay bashing. It’s very disruptive to my play experience.

    Shannon

What’s the best class for the end game? I chose Geek and it’s making the first 20 levels really difficult, but I’ve been told it slowly gets better through your 20s and incredibly better in your 30s and 40s. Is this true? If it’s not, I want to re-roll!

    V.Y.T.

Please feel free to add some of your own to the list!

How can you expect us to use any of the tradeskills if you keep creating NPCs (non-personal corporations) to crank out items. You’re ruining the in-game economy by catering to the twinks out there that don’t want to earn their gear! What about the gameplay!?!

I’ve spent 80 levels earning all of my loot, down to the last CP and now you’re telling me when I transfer my account to the next world I can’t also transfer my stuff!?! Why did I spend all of my time playing this stupid game if you’re just gonna take away everything I worked so hard for?! I’ll sue!

Why isn’t /guildwar implemented yet? My guild (TheProgrammers) been waiting for years to finally launch a concerted attack against our enemies (TheMarketingDepartment) and until now have only been able to have duels. I want /guildwar and I wanted it when you promised it!

      Where’d all the roleplayers go?

As a parent, I am quite enraged at the dress code of this game (men showing their boxers, scantly clad women) and yet you have not posted the M rating yet. Only the RP. Please change this immediately.

Look, absolutely nowhere in your stupid game manual does it say that I’d have my account suspended, and full restrictions implemented if I used my *Pickpocket* skill. That, and that the main city guard was NOT IN COMBAT when I tried to *Sap* him, but it still didn’t work! Give me a break! When are you going to fix the stuff I PAY FOR??!?!? Oh, and *Vanish* is STILL broken! Which is the only reason why I was caught in the first place!
