DS Chat
By Corvus | July 12, 2007
Two unexpected days away, sorry about that. Life got in the way. I ought to be better sorted now. Let’s see if I can make up for my silence.
It’s going to be a good fall, at least from a DS perspective. Not only do I have my new spreadsheet application… er, I mean, Pokemon Pearl of course, but Rune Factory looks like a must play as well…
It’s slated for a mid-August release, despite the July 7th date in the trailer there. Have any of you played Etrian Odyssey yet? It’s appears to be a roguelike, which intrigues me. I just went to Gamefly to toss it into my queue and was greeted with this:

I’d love it if they got rid of the pop-ups and added some AJAX functionality.
I’m still puzzled by the appearance of Assassin’s Creed for the DS on the game conglomerate’s release schedule. Has anyone heard about this? Is it going to be some lame side scroller with a thematic tie in to the Wanx 360 game?
Let’s talk about DS homebrew for a second. I know that Keith of Mousechief (you can download a beta of his latest game, Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble here: link) and Auriea of Tale of Tales (link) are using the M3 DS Simply (link). Before I leap in that direction, does anyone have words of advice or caution? Should I be paying more attention to other solutions and why?
Okay… I think that’s it for me just now. We’ll see how my day goes before I promise more!

My impression was that the GBAMP was standard for any homebrew that might require file system access, but I could be wrong.

Only if I want to run GBA homebrew, I believe. Slot-1 is gaining more support and software.

Well that’s good to hear, because the GBAMP is a pain in the ass.
